Rental Opening Hours
- The office is open Monday to Saturday from 09.00 hrs to 17.00 hrs.
Reservations
- A deposit of £500 is required to secure an advance booking.
- Full rental charges are payable at least 14 days before the start of hire.
- Payments must be made by cash, credit/debit card or bank transfer.
Collection / Return
- Collection of our Campervans is between 13.00hrs and 15.00hrs.
- The campervans must be returned by 10.00 hrs to allow us sufficient time to prepare for re-hire.
- Clients who return the vehicles later than 10.00 hrs without prior agreement will be charged £70 per hour up to a full night’s rental.
Insurance
- The named driver must be aged 25 to 75 years old and hold a clean drivers license valid for 2 years.
- Only EU and British License Holders are permitted by our insurance company to hire.
- The insurance policy has an excess, that is, clients are responsible for the first £1000 of damage.
- We do not offer Collision Damage Waiver to reduce amount of excess damage.
Details of additional drivers required
- Production of valid standard driver’s license required from all drivers at start of hire.
- Drivers are personally liable for all legal penalties (e.g.: parking tickets) which are incurred during the period of hire.
- Drivers must provide two separate forms of identification. i.e. utility bill (not older than 3 months), credit card and passport
- All drivers must be present.
- All accidents must be advised immediately. Where third parties are involved, their details must be furnished when the vehicle is returned.
- Only one additional driver is permitted. £7.50 per day
Persons excluded by our insurers
- Persons who have been convicted of an offence in connection with the driving of a motor vehicle or motorcycle and/or have had their driving licence endorsed or suspended or penalty points imposed.
- Parking and not more than two speeding offences in the past 3 years may be ignored.
- “Spent” convictions, covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 may be disregarded.
- Persons who have had their insurance declined and/or renewal refused and/or special insurance terms imposed as a result of claims experience and/or have had their insurance or cover cancelled by any Motor Insurer.
Security Deposit
- The hirer is liable to pay a security deposit of £1,000 to cover incidents causing damage. This includes loss of skylights, mirrors, window or windscreen damage, impact with stationary objects, driver negligence, returning late or in an unsatisfactory condition, tyre damage etc.
- The hirer must notify us immediately of any accidents or mishaps that occur so that we may do everything possible to ensure the next client is not inconvenienced. Please ensure that your credit card is sufficiently funded so that this amount can be authorized at time of hire.
Cleaning
- A cleaning fee of £150 will be charged from the security deposit if the campervan is not returned with the interior in a clean condition.
- Out of respect for our employees, we must insist that the toilet is emptied and cleaned.
- Please note an additional fee of £70 will be charged from the security deposit if the campervan toilet is not completely emptied and washed out on return. Please note this cannot be carried out at our depot we recommend that you stay in a campsite on your last night to make carrying out this task easier.
Refill Clean Water Tank and Empty Wastewater Tank
- The camper will be supplied with a full tank of potable clean water. Please refill the water in the clean water tank and empty the wastewater tank before returning the vehicle.
- Please note this cannot be carried out at our depot we recommend that you stay in a campsite on your last night to make carrying out this task easier.
Fuel
- A full tank of fuel will be supplied, please return with the Fuel tank completely full. Fuel used will be deducted from the security deposit.
Parking Fines, Speeding Fines and Other Driving Penalties ,Accidents
- Even in the case of very slight damage, the Hirer must prepare a detailed written report for the Rental Company, including a sketch. If, for whatever reason, the Hirer fails to draw up such report and if, because of that, the insurance company refuses to pay the damage, the Hirer shall be obliged to pay full compensation for the damage.
- The accident report must in particular include the names and addresses of anyone involved and any witnesses, together with the license numbers of all Vehicles involved and has to be over handed filled out and signed by Drop Off latest towards the Rental Company.
- Driver(s) are personally liable for all legal penalties and fees relating to any traffic violation under the current Road Traffic Legislation applicable in the United Kingdom including Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.
Cancellation
- In the event of cancellation of the booking by the client the following charges shall be incurred:
- Less than 10 days before beginning of rental: The 25% of the total Booking fee will be retained.
- 5 days to no show: 100% of total hire charge.
- JVS LTD advise that clients should have their own holiday/travel insurance to cover such loss.
- If the Vehicle is returned before the expiry of the agreed rental period, the full contractually agreed hire charge must be paid unless the Vehicle can be hired out to someone else.
In the event of cancellation by JMHH ltd
- Jersey Motorhome Hire will offer an alternative vehicle if a vehicle reserved is not available due to accident, breakdown or other circumstances beyond our control. In the event that we are unable to supply a suitable vehicle, our liability is strictly limited to a full refund of all monies paid by you. We accept no liability for the cost of a replacement vehicle, travel expenses or any other subsequent loss. (Circumstances that we deem to be out of our control include – but are not limited to – vehicle breakdown, damage sustained to the vehicle and late returns by a previous hirer). We recommend that you also have current travel insurance.
- The rental company can cancel any booking at any time. The hirer will receive a full refund if the cancelation is on behalf of the rental company.
Equipment
- An inventory of the equipment necessary for you to enjoy your holiday will be furnished and checked with you at the start and end of the hire period.
Smoking and Fire Safety
- Smoking / Vaping and the lighting of candles are strictly prohibited in our campervans. For your safety our campervans have been fitted with smoke alarms.
- A fine of £250 will be applied if smoking and/or fire safety conditions are not followed.
Travelling to the UK and Europe
- Travel to mainland are not permitted unless agreed.
Conditions of Supply
- Whilst every effort will be made to supply the model ordered, we reserve the right to substitute an alternative vehicle should circumstances dictate.
Pets
- Unfortunately pets are not allowed for travel in motorhome.
- Fine for non-compliance £100.
Hirer Obligations
- By signing the rental agreement, you agree that you will:
- Return the Vehicle to JMHH Ltd in the same condition as it was received – ordinary wear and tear excepted
- on the due date and time specified;
- Not use the Vehicle for hire or reward, nor use it in violation of any law, ordinance or regulation, nor remove it (without prior written consent of JVS Ltd) from the Jersey.
- Limit the mileage to 100 miles per day of hire (pro rata), thereafter subject to a 50p/mile surcharge.
- Not carry more passengers than the seating capacity of the vehicle, or allow the vehicle to be overloaded;
- Maintain at all times the correct level of engine oil and coolant (where applicable). Failure to do so may result in engine damage, for which the Hirer will be fully responsible;
- Be responsible for the Additional Charges set out below;
- Further protect the interests of the Insurer and JVS Ltd by ensuring the vehicle is always parked as safely as possible, locked when unattended, and the keys are secure;
- Authorise JVS Ltd to verify through credit agencies, the DVLA or any other sources – personal, driving and credit information provided by hirer and any additional drivers;
- Not operate the Vehicle, or permit the Vehicle to be operated in, any way that would violate this contract – including, but not limited to:
- Any person under 25 or over 75 years of age driving the vehicle;
- Driving in motor sport events (including racing, pace making, rallying, reliability trials, and speed testing);
- Being used to propel or tow any vehicle or trailer;
- Any person driving the vehicle when unfit through drink or drugs or with blood alcohol concentration above the limit prescribed for the time being by road traffic legislation;
- By any other person other than the hirer or additional Driver(s using the vehicle);
- Using the vehicle under authority of any licence other than his own;
- If you or any driver leaves the car unlocked or fails to secure the keys;
- In a reckless or imprudent manner or if the vehicle is deliberately damaged.
